Creating Your Wedding List
The Wedding Shop is the UK and Ireland’s best and most established wedding gift list and honeymoon fund service offering unrivalled choice, flexibility and exceptional service - all in one place. We’ll use our knowledge and expertise to make the whole wedding list experience stress-free for both you and your guests. We’ve been serving couples for nearly 30 years and we’re proud to be the most popular multi-award-winning wedding gift list and honeymoon fund service – whether you choose to build your list online or in one of our beautiful showrooms, you’ll receive the same exceptional personal service. You can register for your gift list online or in one of our showrooms. Registering for your list is free, and you’ll receive your own personal Gift Guru who will make sure that you never feel overwhelmed – just inspired. Once you’ve registered, you can start to add gifts straight away, select a profile image, choose a background and add a welcome message to make your list your own!
We’re proud to provide a completely free of charge service to our couples, including storing gifts for up to three months and two free deliveries in the UK at a time that suits you.
For guests, delivery is free when they spend over £75. For gifts under this amount, there will be a £2.99 delivery charge applied. Gifts will be delivered directly to the couple at their convenience, and not to the guest. Guests contributing to your honeymoon or a cash fund, are charged a small transaction fee of 1.9%. This fee is charged on all cash funds (except charity donations) and covers the charge our payment gateway provider charge us.

We recommend that you should aim to publish your gift list before you send out your wedding invitations. We provide complimentary cards that you can include within your invitations to let your guests know where to find your gift list. We know how busy planning a wedding can be, so we offer a flexible and personal service giving you the freedom to set up your wedding list whenever you like, from over a year before the wedding to the very last minute. You can even manage and change your list right up to your wedding day!
Yes - we know it’s important to you to feel assured that all monies pledged by your guests are 100% secure. So, at The Wedding Shop we have established a separate Trust Account to hold the pledged monies to your wedding gift list. This means that you can have complete peace of mind, happy in the knowledge that whatever you choose to add to your list, it will always be honored in full. This level of financial security is unique to us and there isn’t a safer place in the UK and Ireland to have your list. Our website also uses SSL encryption technology so that you and your guests can be confident that all your credit card transactions are completely secure.
Some of our couples like to register for more than one gift list service. However, having multiple gift lists might get confusing for your guests. We are confident that at The Wedding Shop our service covers all your gift list needs. You can add unlimited items from our Branded Partners, up to ten Custom Products from any other UK retailers, plus include Cash funds, Honeymoon Contributions, Experiences and Charity Donations all in one list. Surprise Gifting gives guests the opportunity to purchase anything from our Brand Partner offerings. You are, of course, under no obligation to confirm these gifts and can exchange them for anything you want within our brand offerings before you place your order. Some couples appreciate this option as they may desire a gift that reflects a guest’s personality. Additionally, it can be a useful tool if you don't have time to add gifts when the majority have already been purchased for you. You will need to opt-in if you want to benefit from this feature. You can turn this feature on and off from your dashboard.

We work with over 450 Brand Partners providing thousands of products and experiences for you to choose from. Don’t let our selection limit you - if there’s something you’d like to choose that we don’t feature on our website, you can add up to ten Custom Products from any other UK retailer to your list. All product prices are set at the recommended retail price, so that you can be confident that you and your guests are getting value for money.
When you build your gift list, we recommend that you don’t limit yourself, or your guests with your selection – make sure that you add enough gifts from plenty of price points so that you don’t run out of choice! Remember to add more items to your list than your number of guests. If there’s a gift that you really want, you can always put this at the top of your list so that your guests see this first.
When you’ve registered, you can easily add gifts from our website onto your list by clicking ‘ADD TO LIST’. We work with over 450 Brand Partners providing thousands of products and experiences for you to choose from, but if you’re having trouble finding a gift on our website, then your Gift Guru will be happy to help.
It’s important that your gift list reflects your personality as a couple. You can add your photo to your list, include a background image, write a personal message to your guests and even include notes on the gifts you have chosen explaining why you love them! You can move the order of the items around on your list and highlight the gifts that you would really like to receive.
Yes, simply ask your Gift Guru and they’ll be happy to set this up for you.
Yes, we offer group gifting giving you the confidence to add higher-priced items and your guests the option of contributing towards part of a gift. Guests can rest assured their donation won’t go unnoticed - they can also leave a personalised message when Group Gifting. If the item is not fully purchased by the time you close your list, you have the option of using money pledged for another gift towards the cost, or even choose to top it up yourselves (with 20% discount on your first order). Alternatively, you can always choose to use the money to purchase another Branded Product if you’ve changed your mind. See our T&Cs for more information.
There’s the option of including a Wedding Shop Gift Card on your gift list that your guests can pledge money towards. This gift card can be used to purchase items offered by any of our 450 Brand Partners. If you do not want the gift card on your list, then you can always choose to remove this.
Honeymoon & Personalised Funds
If sitting down to dinner in Rome features higher on your personal wish list than a breadboard, then at The Wedding Shop you can ask wedding guests to make honeymoon and minimoon donations via your list. We already have a fabulous range of honeymoon experiences, from sailing trips to jungle treks, which have all been curated by our team to inspire you, or you can create your very own personal honeymoon fund using your own images and ideas! We do not charge our couples for including honeymoon funds; however, there is a 1.9% handling fee to guests pledging money to any honeymoon contributions. We don't profit from this fee — it covers the transaction costs charged by our payment gateway provider, Stripe. See our T&Cs for more information.
Perhaps you’re saving for a new kitchen or maybe you need a little extra help towards buying the home of your dreams? You can set up a Personalised Fund that’s entirely unique to you and ask your guests to contribute towards it. We do not charge our couples for including a Personalised Fund however there is a 1.9% handling fee to guests pledging money to any personalised funds. This is simply to cover the transaction costs charged by our payment gateway provider, Stripe. See our T&Cs for more information.
Charity Donation Funds
Yes! You can add one of our listed charities or add your own registered charity. If your guests contribute to charity donation they won't be charged our 1.9% handling fee. We pay the transaction costs on charity funds as a gesture of goodwill for their generosity towards a good cause. All charity funds are transferred directly to your bank account. From there, you can easily donate to your charity of choice.
Custom Products
We want you to have the list of your dreams. If there’s something else that you’d like to add to your list that you can’t find from our Brand Partners you can choose up to ten gifts from any other UK retailer and we’ll add them on! You have the option of adding a Custom Product to your list from your dashboard, by selecting “ADD GIFTS TO YOUR LIST” and entering the product’s URL. When you add a Custom Product, it will be in a “pending” state for up to 3 working days whilst we confirm the item is eligible to add to your list. Once confirmed, this will no longer be pending and will be visible to guests when your list is published. If we’re able to source this product from one of the brands that we work with, we’ll add this to your gift list as a Branded Product and it will be included in your delivery once you’ve finalised your order.
We recommend adding all your custom products at least 2 weeks before your wedding, to give your guests enough time to purchase them for you and you can reorder your list to have your custom products at the top of your list if you would like to prioritise them.
Please note, whilst Custom Products can be added at any point in your list-building journey, these need to be pledged against by your guests in order to be received.
As outlined in the previous FAQ, if we are able to source the product from our Brand Partners, we will add this to your gift list as a Branded Product for you. Whilst we can source a lot from our Brand Partners, there may be limitations to the ranges we offer so if we can't get an item from one of our Brands for you, we can, of course, still add this as a Custom Product.
For example, we are unable to secure large furniture from brands like Soho Home.
As Custom Products are from outside our Brand Partner offering, any money pledged towards these will be credited to your Wedding Shop account that you can then withdraw and spend directly with your retailer of choice.
Accessing My Funds
It's important to us that accessing your funds pledged towards Honeymoon, Personalised Funds or Custom Products is fuss-free and convenient. To request your cash funds, simply log into your account, click 'ACCOUNT SETTINGS', then select 'REQUEST CASH FUNDS', and voilà! Once your request has been processed, you should receive your funds in 1-5 working days. We provide two separate cash withdrawals totally free of charge. Any further withdrawals will have an extra charge.
Publishing Your List
When you're ready to share your gift list with your guests, you must publish it. Head to your account and click "Publish Your List". You can then share your unique URL with your guests so they can easily browse your list. We also provide complimentary insert cards to include in your wedding invitations to direct guests to your gift list.
Guests browse your gift list, select items to purchase, and proceed to the secure checkout. At checkout, they have the option to add a personalised message.
By default, we'll email you when a guest purchases a gift. If you'd like to keep it a surprise, please chat to us. You can also view all purchase information in your handy Thank You Manager, which makes sending thank you cards a breeze!
Ordering Your Gifts
You can order gifts from The Wedding Shop in two ways:
Default Option: Your gifts will be ordered for our warehouse when you confirm your selection and click "Place an Order." This choice offers maximum flexibility, allowing you to add, remove, or modify gifts even after your guests have contributed money. It's perfect for those who like to make last-minute changes.
On Pledge Option: Gifts will be ordered as soon as your guests buy them. This guarantees that your gifts are always in stock and unaffected by discontinuations.
Sometimes gifts become discontinued by our suppliers, so to avoid any disappointment we recommend placing your orders as soon as possible after your wedding date. We will then store these items for you in our warehouse until you request a delivery.
If a Branded Product on your list becomes discontinued by one of our suppliers, we’ll let you know as soon as possible so you can choose an alternative. If the discontinued item has already been ordered, we will credit your account and you can choose to spend the money on another item from our Brand Partners. To avoid any disappointment, we recommend placing your order as soon as possible – especially for any gifts that you really want.
Prices for Branded Products are set at the recommended retail price (RRP). Occasionally RRPs may change. Should the RRP increase for a Branded Product on your Gift List, we will email giving you 2 weeks’ notice to place an order on that item at the original (lower) price paid by your guests.

Unfortunately, we do not allow gifts (branded product) to be swapped for cash or vouchers and experiences.
Yes of course! You can use money pledged towards any gift (excluding charity) to put towards another Branded Product, even if it wasn’t originally on your list. This only applies if you have not chosen the Order On Pledge option.
If you already have your heart set on your ultimate list of gifts, you have the option to turn on Order on Pledge. Doing this means when a guest makes a pledge, we will automatically place an order for that gift. Turning on 'Order on Pledge' allows you to get your gifts as soon as possible after your wedding day, decreasing the chance of a gift you love becoming discontinued or increasing in price. Use the Order on Pledge function to confirm the gifts that you absolutely must-have.
You can choose to mark all gifts as Order on Pledge, or you can choose selected items. Group Gifts will only be ordered once the full gift has been purchased. Ranges or sets will only be ordered once the full set/range has been purchased. Personalised items will be ordered when our team have confirmed with you the personalisation details. You must select Order on Pledge before the item is pledged. If your guests choose to add a little extra ‘Top-up gift’ at checkout when buying a gift from your list, this will be excluded from Order on Pledge
Maybe you’re moving home or taking time off to travel? Whatever you have planned, if you’re not quite ready to order your gifts your balance will remain on your account until you are ready to place your order.
That’s what we like to hear! We offer 20% off should you wish to top up your first order, plus a lifetime discount of 10% on items from our 450 Brand Partners. Perfect for anniversary or birthday gifts!
It’s up to you, but we would recommend keeping your Gift List open until you return from your honeymoon. Your gift list will automatically close three months after your wedding date, however there’s the option to keep your list open for longer if you wish.
Delivery
We do not hold stock of gifts, but instead place orders with our individual suppliers once you have placed your order. We are currently quoting 8-12 weeks for your wedding gifts to arrive in our warehouse from the time you place your order, although many items may arrive sooner. Some of our brands make to order, or may be based abroad, and therefore will have longer lead times.
You can easily track your order by clicking on ‘TRACK YOUR ORDERS’ where you will be able to see what gifts have arrived in our warehouse. You can choose to receive multiple deliveries if this is more convenient.
Delivery is completely free for couples in the UK, including a convenient Saturday service. We offer each of our couples two complimentary UK deliveries, if any additional are required this may incur a fee. Guest orders are delivered directly to the couple, and free on gift orders over £75. A small delivery charge of £2.99 is applied on gift orders under that amount. Please note, larger or heavier items like furniture, may not qualify for free delivery due to their size and weight.
Some items (such as large furniture or fragile products, vouchers, and perishable items like chocolates) may need to be delivered to you directly from our suppliers. This falls outside of our complimentary delivery service. Therefore, these items will arrive separately from your other lovely gifts. For more information, please chat to us.
We’ll always try our best to include as many gifts as possible as part of our complimentary deliveries to couples. However, for some items such as furniture, we’re unable to guarantee free delivery. If you have any questions, please chat with us.
How exciting for you both, we can certainly help you with that. Once your gifts have arrived safely in our warehouse, we will provide you with shipping quotes and can either deliver your gifts to you via our nominated freight forwarder, or we can deliver them to a freight company of your choice. You will be entitled to a UK VAT refund if we are shipping your goods overseas. Local duties and VAT will be payable by you on import and you will be contacted by our carrier to arrange payment.
Once you have placed an order for your gifts and they have arrived at our warehouse, you can book a delivery. To book a delivery, simply go to track orders on your dashboard menu and click 'book a delivery.’ Please note that dates crossed out are unavailable for delivery.
If you would like to change your delivery, kindly contact our customer care team. (Please note, we are unable to change a delivery 48 hours before the selected date).
Storage
Yes, we have a fully insured warehouse where we can store your gifts for up to 3 months free of charge until you are ready for delivery. After this time, we reserve the right to charge a fee, please contact us for further details.
Returns And Exchanges
We unfortunately do not accept return requests for any unwanted gifts once these have been delivered, except for any damaged or faulty gifts or items that differ from their advertised description.
You can benefit from any warranties or guarantees that are offered directly by the Brand. When you receive your order, we recommend that you take the time to register your products for any guarantees directly with the Brand. Details of how to do this are included in the product packaging.
While we do everything we can to avoid any damages, if you receive any items in your delivery that are damaged or faulty, please make sure to let us know within seven days of receipt. You can report an issue through your dashboard under 'Track Your Orders'.
Breakages happen, and the odd dinner party can often end up with a few broken glasses. When you have your list with The Wedding Shop, you’re a friend for life and we would be more than happy to help you replace any broken items which you can order with a 10% lifetime discount from any of our 450 Brand Partners.
General Questions
Absolutely. We have couples based all over the world and can ship your gifts to you wherever you are based.
Our UK website is priced in £. We currently do not price our products in other currencies, but guests can make purchases using their bank cards in the normal way and the conversion rate will be handled by their bank. We do not charge any additional fees for handling different currencies, but their own banks may do so.
We’re delighted that you would like to recommend The Wedding Shop to a friend! When you recommend us, we will gift you both £50 credit to spend with any of our 450 Brand Partners.
To refer a friend simply generate a unique URL in your account settings to share with your friends. Then your friend can create a list via our refer a friend landing page. Guest FAQS
When the couple is ready to receive their wedding gifts, they will place an order for them to arrive at our warehouse. Once their gifts have arrived at our warehouse, the couple can book a delivery at a date that suits them.
Couples can choose to keep gift notifications on or off. If kept on, the couple will be notified of your purchase automatically. Gift details are always available to couples via their ‘Thank you Manager’ in their Wedding Shop account.
We keep all the information needed for our couples to organise their Thank You Cards, but this process will be at the couple’s discretion.
When you purchase a gift, you will receive an automatic email confirming your order. This can sometimes land in your spam folder. If you have not received an email, please contact us via live chat.
Exciting news! We now offer a gift-wrapping service which can be selected at checkout for an additional cost of £4.99. We'll ensure that once the happy couple has organised their delivery, your gift is packaged in our beautiful paper and ribbon. It's like Christmas has come early!
We can even send your lovely heartfelt message as a personalised gift card too.

Each couple builds their own gift list. We or you cannot add items to a couple's gift list without their approval. We are more than happy to liaise with the couple regarding any gifts you may like to add.
We can only track the progress of your gift once we have received permission from the couple. If you would like an update on your gift delivery, we would be more than happy to liaise with the couple and update you further.

Yes, we do! All our branded products are sold at the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) provided by the relevant suppliers—we never inflate our prices. However, if you find a lower price, we offer a price match guarantee for certain purchases (T&Cs apply).
If you find a lower price for the same product from an authorised retailer, please contact our customer care team.
The Wedding Shop gift voucher allows couples to use their funds towards any products from our 450+ brand partners.
There is a 1.9% handling fee for guests pledging money to any wedding gift cash funds or honeymoon contributions. This fee simply covers the transfer costs from us to the couple—we don't profit from it.
The handling fee is not charged on charity donations. We pay the transaction costs on charity funds as a gesture of goodwill for your generosity towards a good cause.
If you have purchased a gift and have changed your mind, please contact us as soon as possible. Our team will be happy to help. Please be aware if you have bought multiple items and wish to cancel just one, we will have to cancel your complete order and place a new one.
Simply click the 'Find a Couple' button at the top right-hand corner of The Wedding Shop's website. You can then search for a couple using their last name to find their bespoke gift list.
Group Gifting allows multiple guests to contribute toward one higher-priced gift. The price contributed is at the discretion of the guest. For example, if a gift costs £200, a guest can contribute £20, £100 or an amount of their choice!
If for any reason, the gift you have chosen for the couple is no longer available, the couple will have the flexibility to exchange your gift. Couples can exchange gifts with anything else on their gift list or from our 450+ brand partners.
