Neil and Andrea's special day was set in the heart of Devon, in none other than the beautiful Rockbeare Manor - a sophisticated country house with sweeping staircases and grand white pillars. Their wedding blended heartfelt traditions with personal touches, from live worship during their blessing ceremony to a saxophonist's performance during cocktail hour.
Wedding Planning Advice
"When you start wedding planning, give yourself enough time to book your venue and suppliers. Time really does fly! Together, discuss the non-negotiables you want on your wedding day, and then divide up the tasks by playing to each other's strengths. Remember, the day is about you as a couple celebrating your love in front of your loved ones! Make sure you have fun!
We'd also suggest chatting with your suppliers before making any decisions. They need to be people you can work with and trust. Planning a wedding with your partner is a great opportunity to strengthen your communication skills. But it's also important to look after each other's mental wellbeing. Throw in some date nights where wedding talk is off-limits. Don't be afraid to ask for help from trusted friends and family - and to delegate, too!"
What Made Your Day Unique?
"We celebrated our special day with a blessing ceremony featuring live worship music, accompanied by the participation of five pastors. A highlight of our big day was when a friend sang one of our favourite songs, 'The Goodness of God.' It was so special!
Our chosen venue, Rockbeare Manor, exceeded our expectations. And despite unexpected evening rain, our photographer captured the best photographs!
During cocktail hour, a saxophonist performed, creating a chilled and relaxed atmosphere - it was exactly what we wanted. And, of course, the night wrapped up with our DJ bringing the party to the dance floor."
And What About Your Favourite Wedding Memory?
"Our favourite memory was at the beginning of the ceremony when we both saw each other for the first time. We couldn't stop smiling. Our Christian faith filled the whole ceremony, and we had so many people who were important to us take part in it. Another memory we loved was having five minutes to ourselves after the ceremony. It was very special."
Wedding Shop Experience
We absolutely loved visiting the showroom - we could've stayed there for days! We browsed many beautiful items during our visit and could add our favourites straight to our list by scanning them. We loved having a Gift Guru there to help us when needed and answer any questions.
It was great that The Wedding Shop had many different brands at affordable prices. Knowing that we could arrange the delivery of our gifts up to six months after our wedding date made things stress-free, too. Plus, we could add up to 10 custom products!
We really wanted to make things as easy as possible for our guests. Our guests were so grateful we chose The Wedding Shop. It made it easier for them to gift us something they knew we loved. They really appreciated having the option to buy us gifts, donate to a bespoke fund we set up, or opt for group gifting."
And What About Your Favourite Wedding Gift?
"We love all the gifts our friends and family bought us! One of our favourites that we use all the time is the Master Class Knife Block Set. We love cooking with it! Another great gift we’ve used for picnic dates in the park, especially in the summer, is the Willow & Wicker picnic hamper."
